This is a barebones sketch of a Spartan from Halo wearing a suit of OCEANIC armor. The suit is designed after old timey diving suits. I was using a small figure of the armor for reference, though I've since lost the photo. The helmet has a cross-brace across the visor to resist deep sea pressure, and the sketch here has a cross on the face- but the cross in the sketch is actually just a common type of perspective guide artists use to align the head. I don't do proper details until several sketch iterations in. Here's a render of the armor from the games, for reference:
